How to Repair a Bifold Door Top Pivot
The top pivot of bifold doors can become loose and scratch the floor. You can correct this by loosening the set screw on the top bracket.
The top pivot pin is an iron screw that fits into a cap made of plastic which has a rounded end and remains in the track above the front door. You'll also need a screwdriver, or perhaps a pair pliers.
Take off the pin at the bottom.
Bifold doors are a great way to save space in your closet, however over time they may start to fall off the floor, or even break off from brackets. The good news is that you are able to fix the problems with a few basic adjustments.
The most common problem is loose bottom pins or bracket. You can adjust the track by putting the spring-loaded wheel to the top of the door and then moving it to the right the proper position. If the pin doesn't have a bracket for mounting, you can use a flat-head screwscrew between the bottom of pivot flange and the door to pull the pin out of the door. Once you can get a firm grip on the pin, turn it left and right and then pull it out of the door. If you aren't able to remove the pin you might have to take the panel from the track. If this is the case you could place it on saw horses to make the process easier.
Take off the Top Pin
They are great at saving space, but can be frustrating if they start to sag or scratch the floor or veer off the track. A few minor adjustments can usually bring them back in line.
If the doors slide unevenly, loosen with a screwdriver the screw at the pivot point on the top of the bracket and then move it around. Close the door to check if it aligns well with the frame. If it does, tighten up the screw.

Reinstall the pin on the bottom.
If the bottom pin isn't working properly, the door might become stuck, hindering it from opening and closing easily. Fortunately, it is usually a simple fix. Most of the time it's a loose or missing mounting screw is the culprit. If that's the case, the best solution is to replace the screw with a new one that's exactly the same length as the previous one. Then, screw it into place and tighten it.
